Systems Change Chatbots

Meet our two chatbots designed to help you understand and apply systems thinking concepts.  Each chatbot is trained on specific systems thinking and systems change materials.  The materials were selected to have a broad range of perspectives included from the Global North and Global Majority.

The chatbots were initially created as a follow-up resource for Portuguese-speaking participants in a systems thinking training who could not easily access many of the systems change frameworks their funders and others often reference. Since then, we've used the chatbots in a variety of other contexts.

Let us know if you have any feedback on how to make them more helpful for you.

We're experimenting!  This is a new resource and we'd love your feedback.

Systems Change Chatbot

The Systems Change Chatbot has been trained on a mix of systems thinking theory and frameworks, complexity theory, indigenous systems thinking, systems change, and other systems literature.

Use this chatbot for general explorations of systems change and how to apply the concepts.

Ready to get started?  Try describing a specific problem or systemic strategy and asking for input on how to strengthen it. Or, ask questions about systems jargon you've heard before and want to understand better.

Systems Mental Models Chatbot

The Mental Models Chatbot is specifically trained to help understand and explore which mental models you are using in your systems change work. You can also read the article co-authored by Julia Coffman and Jewlya Lynn that is the foundation of this Chatbot: Passing in the Dark: Making Visible Philanthropy’s Hidden and Conflicting Mental Models for Systems Change.

Ready to get started?  Try briefly describing your current strategy and asking the chatbot to help you identify the mental models at play.
